Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley left Chase Field with 3-1 win over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, and he might be adding a signed jersey and a matching BFF bracelet to go with it.
In a postgame interview with MLB Tonight, host Greg Amsinger asked Bradley if he had any questions for analyst Jim Thome, who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer.
Bradley didn’t miss a beat.
“Yeah. What do you think you’d do against me in the box?”
But Bradley didn’t stop there. Despite the fact that he was wearing fresh purple knee-high socks as part of the Diamondbacks’ throwback uniforms, Bradley decided to upgrade his wardrobe, asking Thome if he could snag a signed jersey.
They brokered a quick deal: Bradley will get the jersey, and if the Diamondbacks made the postseason, Thome and his son will get tickets.
This is why it’s important to always shoot your shot, especially when on live television.
Back on Twitter, MLB Network quoted “Step Brothers,” questioning if Bradley and Thome just became best friends. A social-media maverick himself, Bradley had the perfect gif response.
It’s already a big week for Bradley, as Saturday’s game will feature a bobblehead in his likeness as the giveaway.
But wait! There’s more. Amsinger may have also hinted at a future job offer for Bradley at the start of the interview.
“When you’re 43 and your career is over, you’re going to be on the network with me,” Amsinger said, as Bradley laughed.
“It’s gonna happen, Archie. You were made for TV.”
Tell us something we don’t know, Greg.
